In Podgorica is opened Center for Voluntary and Confidential Counseling and Testing (VCT Center) on HIV. VCT Center is opened by CAZAS and Institute for Public Health (IPH) of Republic of Montenegro, and supported by Project HOPE and SIDA (Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency).

VCT Center is headed in the premises of IPH in Ljubljanska Street bb and will be working on Mondays and Tuesdays from 16-20h during the summer season, and afterwards in the upcoming period will start to work every day. In the VCT Center will work trained medical staff that passed through several trainings from this area, so as young volunteers of CAZAS. All of them have acquired necessary knowledge and skills, so as diplomas with title of “counselor for voluntary and confidential counseling and testing” on trainings from this area organized by CAZAS and IPH.

Counseling and testing is VOLUNTARY AND CONFIDENTIAL. The procedure is FREE OF CHARGE and results are fast (for 24 hours), and if the client wishes it is possible to conduct the testing ANONYMOUSLY without giving the personal data. In the VCT Center will firstly be conducted counseling before testing (pre counseling). During this confidential conversation you will get information from your counselor about the procedure of testing and meaning of result of the testing. Also, you can get information about HIV/AIDS, ways of protection from HIV and other sexually transmitting diseases. The decision about testing on HIV is being made by you only. With precept you receive by the counselor you will test yourself at the same place. The result will be announced to you by your counselor during the counseling after the testing (post counseling), upon whom you will be able to speak about your needs, further plans and eventual dilemmas.
