Within the realization of the project on the national level "Support to Implementation of National AIDS Strategy" supported by the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria and UNDP Office in Montenegro, CAZAS is implementing three projects whose goal is prevention of HIV among members of three target groups: youth in general, Roma population and intravenous drug users (IDUs).


Project named "Peer to Peer Without a Fear" is aimed to youth and a goal is education of young people on HIV and STIs prevention in the schools through peer education program conducted by our educated trainers and educators. So far there were held over 200 workshops in 15 towns and covered around 3000 young people. Till the end of this school year is predicted to reach the results of over 600 workshops held and between 15-20.000 young people covered throughout Montenegro.  







Project "Preventive-Educational Work Within RAE Community" is aimed to population of Roma, Aeshkaelia and Egyptians and a goal is prevention of HIV within RAE community in Montenegro through non-formal education and distribution of educational and info-promotional material. So far there were held 75 workshops and covered 1500 young Roma people in 7 towns in Montenegro, and during the project duration we distribute printed materials and condoms.







The goal of project "Harm Reduction Program among Intravenous Drug Users (IDUs)" is prevention of HIV among this population in three towns (Podgorica, Nikšić and Kotor) through outreach work and free of charge distribution of sterile needles and syringes and their substitution for used ones, so as through distribution of info leaflets and condoms. So far we covered 75 IDUs and distributed over 5000 sterile needles and over 2500 sterile syringes. We collected around 1100 used needles and over 500 used syringes, and distributed around 2300 condoms and over 4000 info-educational leaflets among population of IDUs.

NGO Juventas from Podgorica and NGO Preporod from Nikšić.
