“The program of harm reduction”
 


With the project “The program of harm reduction” supported by Global Fond for AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, and UNDP department in Podgorica as the main grant recipient, within support to implementation of National Strategy for fight against AIDS, CAZAS continues with the activities within the harm reduction program and prevention of drug using among young people. This project has been implemented through phases since August, 2006.

Outreach work is being organized in Podgorica, Kotor, Bar and Niksic. The experiences of the outreach workers differ from town to town. Collecting of contaminated utensils (needles and syringes) continues, which are disposed in special boxes.

CAZAS also continues with the distribution of info-promo-educational material containing information about transmission of and prevention from different infections (such as HIV, hepatitis B and C), correct injecting, and etc.

In the following period the program of harm reduction will continue in the same pace.
