PROJECT RESULTS

Project results:

o        Promoted young people`s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular;

o        Developed solidarity and promoted tolerance among young people;

o        Fostered mutual understanding between young people in the countries from SEE and EU;

o        Provided contribution to developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organizations in the youth field;

o        Promoted European cooperation in the youth field

The aim of the exchange was to bring together young people who were involved in using peer education to combat the spread of HIV in order for them to learn, share experiences and knowledge. As we brought young people together to explore the themes the project both led to the personal development of the participants (and their effectiveness of their work) and better intercultural understanding within Europe.

Objectives  that were set and gained with the project

o        Developed the concept of the peer education in the participating youth organizations

o        Developed plans for the fight against HIV/AIDS through the peer education principles.

o        Brought together 30 young people from three countries in Europe for a 15 day exchange to discuss and learn about peer education and HIV/AIDS prevention issues.

o        Produced report on the findings of the discussions/workshops.

o        The participants were given the opportunity to put their ideas into practice in the local community.

o        Provided intercultural experience for all involved.

o        Created a toolkit for peer education in regard to the HIV/AIDS prevention
